The Earth element is the most dense, seemingly solid element. We tend to feel the three-dimensional world is fixed and settled but, like the other elements, Earth is living, growing and malleable. Everything is energy, some things vibrate more slowly than others and seem immoveable, but an advanced yogi can walk through a wall and spiritual masters can walk on water.
What we experience in this kingdom is always being influenced by the journeys we’ve been undertaking in the other three kingdoms. In those earlier adventures we have been setting up the vibrational patterns that will define what happens in the final fourth kingdom of Earth. Our outer, manifested reality is a reflection of our inner state of being. All our desires, plans and feelings add up to making our true place in the world.
‘Bringing it back home’ means that our travels through the kingdoms of Fire, Air and Water have brought us to a new state of inner stability and joy. There is a sense of perfection and completion, even though we understand this is not the end – not a final destination, but just another station on the route. We have struggled, like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, and we emerge as our real self, fully prepared to take delight in the new world we have created – as the biblical saying goes, ‘the old heaven and the old earth have passed away’. Nothing has died, something has been truly born.
It might be a little hobbit house or a cottage. It might be a castle or a Taj Mahal. Or we may be travellers, at home wherever we lay our head. But whatever is right for us will be our natural homecoming and we will it know it, deep in our heart, when we experience this.
The feeling of satisfaction and cosiness that fills us when we come home is magical, and will stay with us even when we turn our attention to more adventures. We will always know our heartland is waiting for us. We will recognise every new station along the way as being an extension of this stable heart-state. Whenever we step onto a new platform, we will know another perfect place is waiting for us.
Remember: bringing it back home doesn’t mean there will be no more travelling, it just means you can continue life’s journey, safe in the knowledge that you can deal with the slings and arrows it can throw at you. You can enjoy the glory and the success with grace.
